For the past 25 years, Mark F. Anderson represents consumers in a cases based on the California lemon law, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and other laws protecting consumers.

Mark was one of the first attorneys in California to represent consumers in lemon law cases. He has represented about 4,000 consumers in lemon law cases. The vast majority were settled on terms favorable to his clients. He has represented the buyers in lemon law cases in jury trials. Trials have resulted in judgments against Ford, GM, Volvo, Kia, and a number of RV manufacturers.

Mark represented the plaintiff in Jensen v BMW of North America (1995) 35 Cal. App. 4th 112. In that case, the Court of Appeal held that the California lemon law applies to used cars sold with the balance of the new car warranty. This was an important victory for consumers extending lemon law protection to the many persons who buy used cars within the factory warranty period. In the same case, the Court held that plaintiffs in lemon law cases may be reimbursed their expert witness fees, which may run thousands of dollars. Finally, the Court held that the statute of limitations for claiming the lemon law civil penalty was four years, not the one year that BMW said should apply. The case has since been cited over 100 times in subsequent decisions.

Mark F. Anderson has represented consumers in lawsuits based on the Fair Credit Reporting Act against the credit reporting agencies and creditors for the past five years. Virtually all the cases to date have been settled on favorable terms to his clients. The Fair Credit cases typically involve identity theft, one person's credit files mixed with some other person, and debt collectors that re-aged accounts.

In 2007, Mark obtained a favorable ruling in a case involving inaccurate reporting of tax liens in Yourke v Experian Information Systems, Inc., 2007 WL 1795705 (N.D. Cal. 2007).

Mark has been class counsel for consumers in about 35 consumer class actions. A number of recent class actions have been against auto manufacturers such as Honda, BMW, and Land Rover.
